There’s much to say on this topic, but I’m going to share with you the basics. Please save yourself the time and money and don’t buy some ridiculously overpriced ebook that promises to reveal a secret that not many people know how to do. They are ripping people off. The core element of your home business should always be communication. The more socially open and available you are with your prospects is the faster you are going to build your downlines and start making those 5 figure weekly residuals. I personally use Grasshopper for a toll free number with informational extensions that pre-screens the calls prior to forwarding to my cell phone. If I am ever swamped with leads I can easily login to my Grasshopper account and add my girlfriend’s number to the downline so she can help me follow up.
The second most important element is a highly optimized Personal Website with a Search Engine Optimization suite such as WebCEO Professional. I personally use and love WebCEO, but I have many SEO clients in addition to my own websites so it pays off for me. If you don’t want to have to learn more about Search Engine Optimization, you don’t have to. I use WLMarketing.com to build back links and increase page rank. They can also handle press release & article distribution, directory submissions, social bookmarking, Squidoo Lens & Hub Pages Writing, Creative Blog Reviews, Blog Carnival Submission & Video Promotion. For just about $230, you can get two websites bringing in thousands of daily visitors in no time.
Search Engines rank websites based on the QUALITY OF BACK LINKS. They determine quality by PAGE RANK. The higher the page rank, the more valuable of a resource, therefore the higher the organic ranking. There is something else to consider though. The quality of the content on your website and how relevant it is to your backlinks. As long as you put yourself out there and invest a little to get your website ranked, you will get a lot of incoming visitors. Visitors = leads and leads = sales.
My suggested initial investment in SEO for two websites is as follows:
Social Bookmarking with Unique Accounts – $90
Squidoo Lense – Free
Article Distribution + Writing – $90
Directory Submission – $50
Local Directory Submission – Free
DMOZ – Free
SEO is an ongoing expense that should be factored into your operating costs as a quarterly expense. The alternative is to purchase the software yourself from makers such as Social Bookmarking Demon, Fast Directory Submitter, Incansoft, JetSubmitter & JetSpinner, etc. If you have the time and knowledge to do this yourself you can probably save some money and learn some cool techniques along the way. You should brush up on the basics with Web CEO’s online SEO certification training program.
Two + sites can help You need at LEAST two websites to be successful. You need one main website where you explain your product and business model (such as www.enzowellness.com) and another site (or network of sites) for doorway lead generation pages to collect your prospects without paying a third party MLM lead provider such as MLMLeadsSpecialist.com. To get started, if you have the capital to invest it’s not a bad idea to buy some leads but my advice would be to get nothing but UNIQUE & Qualified Short Form Redirect Leads. These leads have the highest conversion rate and are introduced to your business model before ever signing up.
You don’t have to know how to build a website! When I was searching for an ideal CRM (Client Relationship Manager), I spent days testing out the most popular ones such as SugarCRM (Open Source), Sales Force, Leads360, Lighthouse and a few others. Then I stumbled upon a perfect network marketing CRM called Prosperity Central. For $25 a month, they give you a feature packed personal website with 10 highly marketable doorway pages, configurable auto-responders to keep in touch with your prospects, personal voice mail and an amazing client manager. Try Prosperity Central!
The next important, if not the most important element is working the leads and effective closing. I’ve found that being up front and honest with people is the best way to close the deal. Sometimes they just need to try the product before being able to get on board with it. I am this way! When I joined LifeCore Global and started selling EnzoFX I tried the product for two weeks before making any commitment… When I realized it worked, I got in at platinum from the start! To be honest in sales, you need to find an honest product to sell. There is a lot of junk out there that isn’t going to live up to its claims. A good product will have supporting evidence or scientific research to back up its marketing efforts. When you find a product like this it is also likely the company will also have a profitable home business model. They aren’t just trying to line the pockets of a few people at the top, they are making it possible for you to be successful. That’s what I love about LifeCore Global and the second reason I chose EnzoFX.
It’s also a good idea to start a personal blog. As your home business grows, you will have a lot of time occupied helping people in your downline get up to speed and building their own downlines. Once you have a blog, you can leverage it as a resource and reference for your sales team to help free up some of your time. Another reason blogging is a good idea is of course, to increase your internet presence. You would promote a blog in the same fashion as a website with Social Bookmarking, Articles, SEO, etc. For blog software, I recommend Word Press. You can find pre-designed premium Word Press Themes really inexpensively or if your sponsor has purchased a multiple site license they can share the templates with you free of charge! It’s a good idea to have something to offer people.
That brings us to the next important element. Help generate leads for your downline until they get on their feet. I typically give my downline members 3-5 leads per day for the first 90 days or until they start generating their own leads. I also make myself available for three-way conference calls. I encourage my downline to call me in to close the deal, using your upline is a very successful approach. You can do this by waiting for the prospect to ask a certain question, at that point you can say “You know what, My sponsor John would be the best person to answer that, can I try to get him on the line real fast?” At that point you should call your sponsor and before switching back over and connecting the three-way call give him a heads up that you have a prospect on the line. When you connect the conference, introduce your sponsor. From then your sponsor should take 15 seconds to get to know a little about the prospect and ultimately give them the answers necessary to close the deal.
PPC (Pay Per Click) isn’t a bad approach to get some targeted traffic to your doorway lead generation pages. I personally stay away from it because I know it’s not necessary. It takes about three months to get a healthy organic ranking. You can be on your feet and making money in no time right out of the gate. If you do decide to invest in PPC you should make sure you use highly targeted key phrases and try to keep your minimum bid down as low as possible. In my professional opinion there is just a better way to get the leads you need.
It’s a good idea to stay socially connected with your sales team and get to know your upline to learn more information about the company you’re working with. It’s also a good practice to have accounts and keep active on all of the main social networking sites such as Facebook, Myspace, LinkedIn and Twitter. These sites not only have a very high Page Rank but they open an opportunity to funnel even more direct traffic to your websites. With a myspace friend adding program you will be able to extract the friends of another popular network marketing company such as Mona Vie and add up to 400 of those people as friends every day. There are similar tools for facebook and twitter. My advice is to get as much free exposure as you possibly can. The more content on these sites with links pointing to your site, is the better off you are going to be.
Set up your auto responders! These are very useful for follow-up automation. It’s a good idea to send an email immediately after they fill out the web form, again the next day (keep it in their minds), again 3 days later, again at 7 days and if they haven’t converted by day 7 send one more at 30. After that it’s a dead lead. It’s important you manually remove email addresses from the category that’s getting these auto responses if /once they join your downline. I set up a separate category that has it’s own email campaigns for members of my sales team. This email talks about upcoming webinars, training sessions, blog posts, sales scripts, advice, etc. This is a good idea to help keep people motivated and focused on making success a reality.
Last but not least.. take advantage of Analytics. Google analytics is a free tool that you can use to track visitor trends in your website traffic. This is a good way to track goal conversions and really get the most out of your marketing efforts. Never spend money blindly!
In conclusion:
Be a good, honest person!
Use the product, Don’t sell a product you don’t believe in
Get to know your upline
Start a website & doorway pages (Prosperity Central is perfect for this)
Create a personal blog
Submit all websites and blogs to search engines
Build Back Links and Page Rank
Rely on the support of your sponsor to learn how to effectively close
Be persistent and proactive
Find what works best for you and adjust
If you are considering starting a home business, there has never been a better time! If you have attempted in the past and failed.. never give up. If you find the right product and the right team you will succeed – mark my words. I love LifeCore Global and the amazing enzogenol product EnzoFX.
